Let's Begin!

1. Fill your shallow dish with milk until it is about 2cm deep. 
   
2. Add a small amount of dishwashing liquid to your small dish bowl.
   
3. Add a few drops of food colouring into your dish. You can use as many different colours as you like!
   
4. Dip your cotton bud into the dishwashing liquid and then place it into your dish, with the dishwashing side facing down. 
   
5. Continue dipping your cotton bud into the dishwashing liquid and then in the milk, and watch the magic happen!

It is all about the interaction between soap and fat molecules. The soap breaks down the fat in the milk, causing the food colouring to swirl and create a colourful galaxy-like effect. This demonstrates concepts like surface tension, molecular movement, and chemical reactions - all in one exciting and visual experiment!
