BRINGING SCIENCE TO EVERYONE, EVERYDAY, EVERYWHERE

We believe in the potential of every child and are driven to spark hope, excitement and curiosity within our future generations. We recognise that the world is changing at an unprecedented rate, and the demands and lifestyles of our youth are moving with this.

In 2021 Science Alive is launching a suite of activities to cater to this, including online virtual education resources, new outreach programmes, in-community exhibitions and educator support. We will continue to develop more offerings and engagements with our communities, and provide more information as these become available.

Science Alive is a New Zealand Charitable Trust established to inspire the public in Science & Technology, through interactive experiences.

We aim to raise awareness of careers in science, scientific research, the applied sciences and technologies; and to showcase New Zealand successes in these fields.

We have access to a team of Astrophysicists, Engineers, Biotechnologist, Biochemists, Computer engineers and User experience designers.

We also have a very strong network of collaborators and fabricators, who we utilise for a project on a case by case basis.

Since 1999, Science Alive has exported over $8 million of exhibits to Science Centres throughout the world.

Science Alive has produced interactive exhibits for Te Papa (New Zealand), Al Khobar (Saudi Arabia), Exploratorium (USA), Tech Dome (Malaysia), Science Centre Singapore, and many more Museums, Science Centres and Organisations.

Science Alive is currently in a redevelopment phase, looking at new strategies and projects. We have previously run a wide range of science and technology programmes.

Science Alive is a charitable trust that was established in 1991, to inspire the public in science and technology, through interactive experiences.

It moved into Christchurch’s Railway Station building on Moorhouse Avenue in 1993, but since the 2011 earthquakes, its interactive exhibits have been exported for temporary displays throughout the world or in storage.
