Event Information
Aerospace NZ's annual Summit brings together top scientists, engineers, and industry professionals at Te Pae Convention Centre during the 2026 school holidays, so Te Whai Ao - Dodd-Walls Centre's community engagement team are running a one-day workshop for space-curious kids!
Developed for curious minds from 9-13 years old AND their guardians, the day will feature hands-on activities and challenges, q&a time with industry professionals and researchers, a specially-arranged trip to the Summit's exhibition hall, and more, all to inspire and inform about the wide variety of opportunities to work in this ever-expanding field.... because this is one area where the sky is not the limit.
Sion from the Science Alive Outreach team will be presenting throughout the day with the popular Dome Experience.
Important Information
When: Thursday 1st October
Time: 10am - 5pm (Dome experiences 5 showings throughout the day)
Where: Tūranga Central Library - Ngā Purapura Activity Room on Level 1
Price: $5 per adult with up to 3 children
- Participants must have a grownup accompanying them
- Each grownup must pay to register, but can register up to 3 young people for free - and the grownup is strongly encouraged to participate!
- Please include names and ages for all attendees for Aerospace Summit health and safety.
- Catering is not provided, please bring morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for everyone in your group.
