Science Alive Charitable Trust and The Museum of Transport and Technology have joined forces in a strategic partnership which has brought to life the ‘Science Alive Te Manawa MagicBox’—an innovative learning station inside their new facility - Te Puawānanga Science and Technology Centre of which Science Alive is a proud sponsor.

Located in the heart of Auckland, New Zealand, lies the well known and loved MOTAT - the Museum of Transport and Technology. Since its inception, MOTAT stands as a testament to the innovation and progress of New Zealand’s technological and transport heritage. Now, with the development of their Science and Technology Centre, Te Puawānanga -  MOTAT offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to embark on a new journey of discovery and interaction.

The Vision

Science Alive Te Manawa Magic Box is located inside Te Waha – Innovation Space. With the ability to change shape for exhibits, events, educational programmes and shows this adaptable space offers a dynamic platform for children to engage with hands-on STEM learning in a multitude of ways. Science Alive has been working in collaboration with the MOTAT team to support the development of educational experiences available as part of the Magic Box experience.

MOTAT’s vision for the the Te Puawānanga Science and Technology Centre and the Science Alive Te Manawa Magic Box aligns with our charitable purpose and mission of making STEM accessible for all. Science Alive are thrilled to partner with MOTAT and excited to continue working with a team who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to the young people of New Zealand.
