Water education classes: See our education section for more
Wonderful water - Years 1-3
Make lots of exciting discoveries in our Wonderful Water class.
Key Concepts: states of water, floating, sinking, melting, dissolving, surface tension, density of liquids.
Exhibit examples: See our exhibitions page for more
Spinning Water - Rotate a cylinder of water and see how the water appears to climb up the inside of the cylindrical container.
Viscosity Tubes - Pumping air bubbles into different density liquids shows how easily the bubbles rise in low densities compare with high density.
Descartes Diver - By pumping air into the acrylic cylinder containing water, the model diver sinks. When the pumping stops the diver rises.
Interactive Water game:
Learn about the changing state of water in this fun interactive game, what temperature does water have to be to freeze? How hot does it have to be to turn into a gas?
