	Mechanics Learn about wheels, levers, pulleys, gears and simple machines. We have a number of exhibits and education classes related to this subject.
	Planet Earth Encounter the Earth's Fury exhibition or learn more with one of our many geology resources and other Earth based science kits and equipment.
	Puzzles and Brain Teasers Puzzles and brain teasers are a great activity for keeping your brain active, get your's going with our Brain Drain, Puzzling Things and Illusions exhibitions.
	Robotics Learn about Science Alive's great robotics programmes or head straight to our robotics section and find out about Robocup Junior, our robotic dog named Chip and lots more.
	Senses We have two great senses based education classes for children in early childhood and school years 1 to 3. Also take a look at our interactive area's fascinating Stringless Harp, Whisper Dishes, Reaction Tester, Mirror Writer and more.
	Space Take part in one of our seven space education classes. Four of these are related to our portable Starlab which lets students see the stars as if they were really out in the night sky.
	Structures Make Duplo cities, design K'nex bridges or hire an impressive diorama of the Pyramids, Horse of Troy, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Medieval Castle and more.
	Water Learn about states of water, floating, sinking, melting, dissolving, surface tension and the density of liquids in our fun Wonderful Water education class.

The Science Alive! Resource Centre is situated in the Education Area at Science Alive! 392 Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch. We offer a hire service for schools and other educational centres in Christchurch and surrounding districts.

Early Childhood Programmes

We offer Early Childhood groups three educational programmes based on Te Whariki. All Science Wonders Programmes take place in Kidz Zone and must be pre-booked. They are suitable for 3-4 year olds.

Primary School Programmes

Science Alive! school programmes provide valuable hands-on learning experiences for your students through a range of equipment and interactives not usually seen in the classroom. Our Year 1-10 programmes are closely linked to the New Zealand Science and Technology curricula. The objectives are covered with challenging student-centred experiences that make learning about science and technology fun, exciting and relevant.

Secondary School Programmes

Our programmes provide valuable hands-on learning experiences for your students through a range of equipment and interactives. Our Year 9+ programmes are closely linked to the New Zealand Science and Technology Curricula.
