Electricity education classes: See our education section for more

Electrifying Electricity - Years 1-3

Light up your life with hands-on activities which involve investigating how electricity is used in everyday life. Key Concepts: static, chemical and current electricity, simple circuits, safety with electricity and how electrical energy is converted to light, sound and movement.

Electrical Sparks - Years 3-8

Charge up your students’ interest with this series of hands-on activities.
Key Concepts: mains, chemical and static electricity, circuits, conductors, insulators.

Everyday Electronics - Years 5-8

Experiment with ELECTROFLASH Electronics Kits to develop and explore your understanding of electronic circuitry used in everyday devices.
Key Concepts: circuit requirements, use of conductors, insulators, transistors and resistors.

ElectroFun Years - 4-6

Enter the exciting world of electronics using the ELECTROFLASH Electronics Kits - construct a fun electronic device that will demonstrate a working circuit to take home.
Key Concepts: use of components and their symbols, circuits - parallel and series.

Electricity exhibit examples: See our exhibitions page for more

Electricity Bench - Experiment with an array of different types of circuits.

Static Fleas - Rub the wool or synthetic cloth over the top of two Perspex or polycarb containers which have plain pith balls in one and graphite coated pith balls in another. See which ones are attracted to the top of the cover.

Electric Vine - A long tube enables the visitor to place his/her hand around the glass and observe how the plasma streams magically come towards the hand. This is a unique design.
