Primary School Programmes
Science Alive! school programmes provide valuable hands-on learning experiences for your students through a range of equipment and interactives not usually seen in the classroom. Our Year 1-10 programmes are closely linked to the New Zealand Science and Technology curricula. The objectives are covered with challenging student-centred experiences that make learning about science and technology fun, exciting and relevant.
A table showing the curriculum links for our programmes in a available here.
Our programmes have pre/post visit teacher material which is sent to you at the time of confirmation. Additional Resources may be hired from our Resource Centre.
Programmes are presented in our specialised classrooms - 'Discovery', 'Science' and 'Technology', our public Interactive Area (check out our current exhibition) or we can bring many of our programmes to schools in the Canterbury, Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast areas.
Science Programmes
Science programmes are based around a series of hands-on interactives. Each session consists of an introduction, followed by hands-on investigations with students working in small groups. The session concludes with a class discussion.
